Urdu Rasala under attack

Yes!….. Its very unfortunate but it is true that last night one of our foolish friend tried to hack Urdu Rasala. He somehow got his hands on admin area and deleted all categories, sub categories and books entries. He also changed some of the contents. Apparently his purpose was only to disturb this website and its readers. There was a hole in our security system which has given him a chance to do that. We have fixed it and also going to take extra measures to avoid it in the future.

We apologize for this inconvenience to our visitors. This attack affected them all and they were not able to read books from 18-Dec-2008 9Pm to 19-Dec-2008 11Am. The site has been fixed now by restoring last week’s backup. So the only thing affected for us is to re-create books entries that we published this current week which is around 10.

This event has also helped us to re-think about website security and to safeguard it from future hackers. From this point of view, we are thankful to Mr. Hacker who has given us a good hint.
