UrduRasala is no more Free

01Yes!… this is true. UrduRasala.com’s success and popularity has exceeded all of our expectations. Same is the case with its expenses. We know that our readers are expecting a lot from us. We realize our responsibility. We are trying our best to speed up the process of uploading more and more novels and stories. However it has becoming difficult for us now due to increased expenses. This resulted in this tough decision for us. We are now going to charge a very minimum fee that is affordable for everyone. This little support from our readers will help us to keep this service for a long period of time.

02There are two ways to get membership: First is for those who are living in Pakistan. They can buy one month membership card in just Rs. 100 from any near by shop. (please click here to see our outlets near you).  One can buy it every month or can buy more than one card to renew membership for respective months. Secondly way is for those living outside of Pakistan. They can charge their Credit Cards, Master Cards, American Cards Or PayPal to pay for six monthly or annual membership.

03We apologized from those wishing to read urdu rasal for free. We hope they can understand our problems. On the otherhand, we shall try our best to not only continue our quality services but to make it better and better day by day. We shall appriciate your support in this regard by purchasing Urdu Rasala Membership.

Dear Junaid Sb,

Thank you for taking your time to respond here. However you doesn’t seem to understand details. Please try to understand it. We have hired several employees to type novels and stories. Then separate staff members are there to compose these novels in the software which is our distinction. This all comes at a price. Nothing is free. We are not asking for too much. We just want support to continue our process. I hope this help you to understand our situation.

Secondly, please don’t compare us with Kitaabghar. We have uploaded more novels and stories in last four months what they have uploaded in three years. They post one or two novels per month while we post same in One Day. Our book reading experience is far superior than theirs. And finally, we are not showing ANNOYING ads everywhere on the website as they are showing. So we are a lot different than Kitaabghar.

As far as I can see, this website is turning into a full-fledged business rather than a website to serve people looking for just a good read. I believe you should look at a different kind of business model that keeps your customers happy. I may not be the only one with this sort of complaint, others are either not bothering to complaint or simply looking for alternatives (Kitaabghar?). Maybe if parts of the site were free and others paid, it could work out as a business. Just a suggestion.

I do not think people mind looking and clicking on a few ads in return for reading quality novels that you have been providing. Ads are not necessarily ANNOYING, they pay the bills and keep the site running. You should REALLY consider the business model you are accepting and whether it will attract more customers or deter the current ones.

Finally, as my first inquiry goes, is there any alternative payment methods as I do not have a credit card/Paypal account and neither is my country on the list of supported locations in Paypal. Any alternatives?

I want to emphasize that my complaint is more about the business ethics (Bait and Switch?) rather than money. Yes, money is an issue but not the amount itself, rather how to send it.

To other readers, if you feel that the paid model of the website is unnecessary/unacceptable/unreasonable, please let Mr Admin know about your feelings.

Mr Admin, no offense intended. I am just airing out my views.

Jazakallah,
Salams,

Junaib Sb,

Thank you for your response and sharing your thoughts with us. We are always looking for useful comments and suggestions from our respected readers and your comments in this regard are appreciated.

Your idea of making some contents/novels free is wonderful idea. We have forwarded this idea to our team to make our earlier novels (that you and other readers read freely) to remain free. However one has to get proper membership to read all latest collection. Thank you very much for this great idea.

Regarding your idea about asking readers to deliberately click on ads and help us getting money from ads is not ethical. It is kind of spamming the ads system. People pay for theirs ads only to get targeted traffic. Readers clicking on these ads just to support us will actually abuse that system. I am sorry we just can’t adopt a unfair business practice. For genuine clicks, I am sure you can understand that Asian clicks are not generating much revenue. So displaying ads is good as far as you wanted to launch a site like kitaabghar where you upload one or two novels per month with zero to minimum cost. But it is not helpful in our model.

To answer your payment inquiry, we are going to post another blog post here regarding payment topic only. There are several ways of payments,

(1) Credit Card (all types)
(2) PayPal
(3) Scratch Card
(4) Sending GSM network balance equal to desired membership (setup for temporarily)
(5) Western Union Payment
etc

So for any user who want to buy membership but doesn’t know how to do that, please open a support ticket at,

http://www.support.urdurasala.com

We are here to help you find a most convenient way to pay for membership.

Once again, Thanks Junaib Sb for your valuable contribution. Please open a support ticket and refer to this conversation, we are going to give you one month membership complimentary as a little reward for sharing your valuable suggestions with us.

Thank you for your prompt and kind reply.

Just to clarify, I did not mean asking the users deliberately to click on the ads. Just place them and they will know what to do :) However, I do agree with you to some extent that ads may not totally pay off.

I appreciate that you are taking into consideration what readers like myself have to say about the site and it’s future. I am only doing it because I like this site and would love to keep coming back for more reading.

Thank you for your generous complimentary offering in return for sharing my thoughts and suggestions. Should I have any queries I will be sure to open a support ticket.

Salams,
Junaid
